Our Story

Started by Gary. Carried Forward by Mike.

In 1997, Gary Hartley left his job at a regional HVAC company with a set of tools, a used van, and a simple belief: that homeowners deserve honest service without the runaround.

He built the business slowly — one referral at a time — earning a reputation for showing up when he said he would, charging what he quoted, and standing behind his work. By 2008, he had five trucks on the road and a team of technicians he'd trained himself.

Today, Gary's son Mike leads the company. He grew up riding along on service calls and started training as a technician at 18. When Gary retired in 2019, the handoff was seamless — because the values never changed. The company still runs the same way Gary built it: local, honest, and rooted in this community.

We live here. Our kids go to school here. Our neighbors are our customers — and we've always treated them that way.

Over the years, we've supported Cedar Falls youth hockey leagues, contributed to the Black Hawk County food bank, and sponsored local community events. When the community is doing well, so are we.

We're also proud to participate in Project Warmth each winter — donating furnace repairs and tune-ups to qualifying low-income households in Black Hawk County.
